Bell & Evans is a family owned business with a family driven culture. Our drivers are home every night with a 5 day work week. There is a free on-site clinic for you and your covered dependents. All loads from the farms to facilities (Live Haul Driver) are within a 100 mile radius and deliveries are no-touch-freight for Delivery Drivers. Our trucks are top quality Mack’s and KW’s, with no slip seating, on-site fueling and washed by the company every weekend.
Our turn-over is less than 10% for a reason! We currently have openings for Live Haul drivers, Delivery drivers and Team drivers.

JOB SUMMARY:
Yard Jockey operates diesel powered tractor trailer combination bringing trailers to and from loading docks, to and from the yard, to be loaded and unloaded.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
· Pulling trailers away from loading docks to be staged in the yard.
· Backs trailer to loading docks.
· Performs safety checks on yard equipment and trailers.
· Monitor yard for refrigerated equipment operation and maintaining of temperature.
· Adjust temp set point on refrigeration units and report shut down codes to supervisor.
· Opens and closes various doors on trailers, secures trailers with locks or seals.
· Required to maintain radio contact with shipping personnel to receive instructions on when and where to move trailers or other company equipment, such as straight trucks.
· Required to maintain a log of yard moves for their shift.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Experience helpful, but will train an individual who has a good driving record. MVR may be pulled for verification.
Truck Driving Job Description Overview
As a truck driver for Bell & Evans, you are required to have a Class A Driver’s License, be a Self Starter, and have the ability to operate pre and post op trip equipment. You may be asked to provide a variety of jobs such as transport live poultry, transport raw materials or delivery finished goods to our customers. Our open driver positions are:
- Live Haul Driver (driving chickens or chicks) from or to the farms to the facility.
- Utility Driver (driving finished product, raw materials or yard jockey)
- Dress Driver (delivering finished product to customers)
- Team Drivers (two people taking turns driving a truck from Pennsylvania to Florida)
